Humble Beginnings, Bold Ambitions
Tamveel’s story began with our founders, Matiullah and Behishta, and a group of young, educated change-makers in Afghanistan. Obsessed with supporting young entrepreneurs, we became integral ecosystem builders, facilitating everything from incubation and funding to global networking. Our boldest initiative was the Tamveel Impact Investing platform, launched in 2019, to invest in early-stage local entrepreneurs.
The Pivot: Resilience and Re-dedication
In 2021, the unexpected happened: our hopes, along with our country, collapsed, forcing us to leave Afghanistan. This profound disruption led to a period of re-dedication and acquiring specialized knowledge.
Matiullah graduated with a Master of Leadership in Sustainable Finance from Frankfurt School, and Behishta graduated with a Master in Sustainability & Social Innovation from HEC Paris.
